Meet Our Staff
Randy has served with us since February 2008. As Pastor, he oversees and ministers to all areas of our church. He and his wife Jan met in Sundown when she moved here to teach. They raised three children here who have blessed them seven grandchildren.
A Texas Tech graduate, Randy grew up in Sundown before spending time working in the oil industry and as a general contractor building houses. He enjoys family, woodwork and being a pastor.
Parker has been our Youth Pastor since January 2015. He ministers to our 6th through 12th grade students and their families. You may also see him teaching swim and mentoring our athletes at Sundown ISD. He and his wife Sarah met in Nacogdoches, Texas and have two sons.
Parker grew up in Tulsa, Oklahoma and Houston, Texas. He has a background in Exercise Physiology & Human Performance. He enjoys spending time with his family, CrossFit, woodwork, hunting and College GameDay.
Rhonda began as Secretary in November 2006. She is the friendly face you'll meet if you call or visit our church office. She also works on many projects behind the scenes like our payroll and church bulletin.
She met her spouse Leland in Levelland, Texas in 1993. Their five children have blessed them with 11 grandchildren. Rhonda has a background in a variety of fields including store management, truck driving and banking. She enjoys family dinners, camping and Rock, Gem & Mineral Shows.
PASTORAL ASSISTANT & TREASURER
Lorienda has served with us since June 2012. She blesses our elder ladies, visiting with them in their homes and nursing homes. She also helps them with shopping, getting groceries and going to doctor appointments.
Lorienda has spent time in Denver City, Brownfield, and Sundown, Texas where her son currently lives. She has one grandson. A Sundown graduate, she attended South Plains College before working at and retiring from Girlstown USA. She enjoys reading, yard work and being with friends.
Jay began leading our Worship Ministry in November 2013. He desires that all of those involved in leading praise and worship are obedient to the Holy Spirit above all else. In this, we as a congregation can be full of faith that God will bring about transforming encounters and reach places in the hearts of people that music alone cannot touch.
He and his wonderful wife Carrie met in Portland, Oregon and have two girls. Jay grew up in Sundown, TX before pursing a background in architecture, which he has been able to use to contribute to various renovations around the church. He enjoys spending time with his family, traveling to Maryville, Missouri where Carrie grew up, carpentry and writing & recording music.
Deb has served as our Children's Minister since May 2011. She ministers to our children from pre-K through 5th grade and coordinates a variety of programs for them like Hallelujah Night and Vacation Bible School. Her passion in ministry is to build a foundation on the things of God and raise disciples.
She and her husband Max are high-school sweethearts. They have three children whom she enjoys watching play sports and going with on family outings. Deb was born and raised in Sundown before she left to pursue a degree in Business Management. Her other interests include sports, crafting and photography.
Stacey has been our Women's Minister since April 2018. She ministers to our ladies of all ages. We also have her to thank for putting together Ladies Fellowship Nights. Her and her husband Mark met in Dallas, Texas and have five kids and six grandkids.
Stacey grew up in Abernathy, Texas and worked as a Respiratory Therapist before becoming a stay-at-home mom. She enjoys golfing, canoeing, skiing, watching baseball, gardening and the unique newness of studying the Bible with her brothers and sisters in Christ.
CHAIRMAN OF DEACONS
Shorty has been coming to church here since the mid 1960s. He began serving as a deacon in the early 90s and became the chairman in 2008. Our deacons serve across many areas from home projects in our community to renovations in our church building.
After graduating from South Plains College, Shorty made a career in farming and retired in 2011. He met his wife Teresa in Levelland in 1975. They have two children and three grandchildren. Together, they enjoy attending Randy's Bible studies to better know God, to understand their relationship with Him, to experience Him and to be His obedient son and daughter. Shorty's other interests include spending time with family and friends and hunting.
