Thank you for your patience as we have been working with the state to issue our initial operating permit. While we have a TENTATIVE opening date of July 29, we CANNOT make any guarantees as there are many moving parts.

However, at this time, you may pickup an application for enrollment so you can be ready to go when we open. They are available at Sundown Church, Monday - Friday, 9 AM - 1 PM. Please call (806) 229-2481 upon arrival if the doors are locked. Thank you!

Our non-profit program is a ministry of Sundown Church doing business as Kingdom Kids. We offer full time care for children 6-months-old through 4-years-old and after-school care for children enrolled in Elementary School.

Kingdom Kids is open annually. Kingdom Kids will closely follow the SISD School Calendar for closures. Our hours are Monday through Friday from 7:30 AM - 5:30 PM.

Kingdom Kids adheres to the Minimum Standards set forth by the Texas Health and Human Services Commission for Child Care Centers.

At this time applications can be picked up at Sundown Church during office hours.

Mission

To love kids like God loves us and teach them to love like Him.

Kingdom Kids Mission Sundown Texas

Vision

We are dedicated to partnering with local families to nurture children who are confident in their ability to be themselves. Alongside teaching developmentally appropriate skills, we will teach about God and His creation. We want to encourage future generations to know Jesus and grow in Him. Our faith-and-play-based curriculum will encourage wholeness over perfection.

 Core Values

  • We believe that we are created by God in His image for His glory. This is our purpose. Each of us is significant and unique with different passions, talents and giftings. When we know who we are and what God says about us, we can grow up to do anything we set our minds to.

  • We believe that God’s word is living and active which means His promises are still relevant and true today. He is not only Creator God but a loving Father. He still listens, still speaks, and still makes Himself known to us through the Holy Spirit. We are not alone and can trust Him to be who He says He is regardless of our circumstances. We were created to be filled by Him , but the choice is our own to make.

  • We believe that God is love, and we love because He first loved us. This love is free and abundant and gives us the freedom to be ourselves. Love is kind. Kindness is love. We will demonstrate and promote loving-kindness to both ourselves and others.

  • We hope to create a safe, predictable environment in which our kids can grow and explore. We believe that play is serious learning, and we want our children’s love for play and learning to last a lifetime. Our predictable routine will provide security while allowing enough room for creative expression.

  • We want to create an accepting environment for your family and embrace our diversity. The world needs who we were created to be, every single one of us. We are all in-process and believe that we are better because we have each other. Though we are many, we are one, and we want to cultivate a community where we treat each other with compassion and respect.

  • Trusting your child(ren) in someone else’s care is a difficult decision. We seek to hire vetted caretakers who will uphold the Minimum Standards set forth in Chapter 42 of the Texas Human Resources Code (law) so you can be confident in your child(ren)’s well-being. Our policies are in the best interest of every child, working-parent, caretaker, and employee.

We’re all in this together.

We’ve compiled a list of helpful resources for your family.
